Blair Little League 2020 Season Update

So many great memories are made playing baseball with friends in the summer and 2020 was
set to be another great year for the Blair community and our league. We are grateful for the
tremendous support from the community this year in player registration. Thank you for choosing
Blair Little League for your child. We also want to thank you for your patience as we evaluated
our options and ability to hold a season this year, along with the best course of action for
registration fee refunds.

After reviewing the state health measures, financial implications, and potential positives and
negatives of having a season at this moment, our board met to discuss all options. With that in
mind, we have decided it is not possible to have a Little League Season and will be cancelling
the 2020 season for the Blair Little League.
This decision was not easy.


We want to be transparent with the cost of running the Blair Little League program. As you can
imagine, having an organization with over 300 participants every year does have a fair amount
of fixed costs. Prior to a single game being played on our fields, we have $14K + in expenses.
These expenses include property and liability insurance at the facility, field / park maintenance
(mowing, fertilizer, etc), player and volunteer insurance, website and website fees. Our 2020
charter fee from Little League International was refunded.


As a board we feel the costs incurred and operational expenses will be a challenge for us to
overcome, however we hate to pass that on to our participating families. We will be happy to
provide a 100% refund to all participants.
We have also shredded all volunteer deposit
checks.

  • Refunds will be issued back to the credit card used for registration or via a check in the instance your credit card is no longer active, or you didn’t register by credit card.
  • Refund requests must be made by June 18, 2020. This will allow us to understand our cash flow moving forward and create a plan for next year.

We ask you to consider donating your registration fee in order to cover some of the fixed costs
noted above. We have tried very hard to provide a program and facilities that our community
can be proud of year in and year out and it takes revenue to make that happen.

We have been blessed with a great community to be a part of and will do our best to continue to
provide a great experience in 2021 for our participants. In the meantime, take care of yourselves
